Techno legends Slam deliver their third EP in twelve months with another heavyweight contribution to the Swedish imprint.'Crowded Room' and its combination of a tight melodic loop, break-driven drums and snare-roll drops evokes a mid-nineties techno feel yet retains the sleek, rounded and future-focussed feel that has characterised their productions of late.Its counterpart, 'Night Train', balances old school references with modern techniques too but does so in distinctly moodier fashion. From the synthesized locomotive sounds to the rhythmic clunk of the toms there's a playful darkness running throughout and it works excellently.Enjoy.
